Images

Inserting images on Microsoft Word and on WordPress are different processes. They also have different options as to what you can do to manipulate an image once it is inserted.

To insert an image on Microsoft Word, you go to the Insert tab, select the Pictures drop down menu, select Picture from File… and select your image from wherever you have it saved.

To insert an image on WordPress, you click the button that looks like a square with mountains in it, select Upload, and select your image from wherever you have it saved.

They both also have other options of what kinds of images you can insert. Microsoft Word, for example, has Shapes, Icons, 3D Models, SmartArt, Chart, and Screenshot in addition to Pictures. Within the Pictures drop down menu there are also other options: Photo Browser… and Online Pictures…. WordPress has the options Media Library, and Insert from URL in addition to Upload. Microsoft Word has many more options for the images that can be inserted than WordPress has.

In Microsoft Word you can manipulate your images in many ways including Sharpen/Soften, Transparency, and Artistic Effects. These options show up under the tab Picture Format when your image is selected. Manipulating images in WordPress does not seem possible to me, although it is possible that I just haven’t figured it out since I am new to the tool.
